Scary News: EPA Declares Enforcement of HFC Regulations a Top Priority for 2024-2027

Every so often, the EPA announces their enforcement priorities for the next few years. For the first time ever, the EPA’s National Enforcement and Compliance Initiatives include the enforcement of HFC regulations as a top priority for 2024-2027. I don’t know about you, but I felt like they were talking about supermarkets when they reference “addressing significant noncompliance in specific industry sectors.”

Webinar Recording: Preparing for Part III of the AIM Act

Just in case you missed it, Facilio posted the recording of the joint webinar with RMS’s Keilly Witman on the EPA’s proposed regulations under Part III of the AIM Act.

Further Clarification on California’s Bulk Refrigerant Ban

Those of you who’ve been carrying around a photo of a new 45-foot Tiffin Zephyr RV with a fireplace, a central vacuum system, a stacked washer and dryer, four smart TVs, and a basement freezer that you were going to finance with cross-border virgin 404A trips need to come up with an alternative way to finance your dream. SNAP Rule 26 Adds New Low-GWP Refrigerants to the “Legal List”

The EPA’s SNAP Program issued its final regulation allowing the use of several low-GWP refrigerants in commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning. Most of these are flammable, so there are use conditions. The footnotes are just about as long as the regulation, so be careful! See the EPA’s fact sheet and the text of the final rule.

Reminder for Equipment Manufacturers about California’s R4 Reporting

Equipment manufacturer R4 Annual Reclaim Use Reports are due to California by July 1st, 2024. More info is available on California’s R4 website, along with reporting templates and other helpful tools.
